Olympia Weekend Schedule Moving to a Program-Year Cycle
We are pleased to announce that The College For Congregational Development Weekend Sessions will be moving from a calendar year cycle to a program/school year cycle, beginning in 2020. This means that the first weekend session of CCD in 2020 will be the weekend of October 2.
Why are you making this change?
There were reasons for beginning CCD Weekends on the calendar year that aren’t relevant anymore. This change will allow participants to meet every 1-3 months (Oct, Nov, Feb, April) without a 4-5 month break in the middle of the year for summer. We believe this will make for better and more consistent learning experiences for our participants, as well as be a better fit for the church program year.
What does this mean for people who have registered for weekends in 2020?
We will be getting in touch with each person who has registered to confirm the registration with the new dates. Our 2020 session will begin in October of 2020, and end in April of 2021. We will be providing some special consulting and check-in opportunities for congregational teams who are entering their second year in 2020, to keep the learning fresh in the transition time.
What are the new dates?
Our 2020 Weekend CCD Dates are October 2-3, and November 6-7. The remaining two weekends, which will take place in 2021 are not yet scheduled but will be in February and April respectively.
Will The College be offering any other learning experiences in the first half of 2020?
Yes! We will use this transition time to launch our CCD 2.0 learning days! These are special deep dives on a particular skill set or theory area designed for people who have already completed at least one year of The College. Our first 2.0 learning day will be Saturday, Feb 8,, 2020, at Dumas Bay Conference Center. The day will be focused on using the tools of The College to plan retreats and meetings – more info and registration information will be out very soon.
